This week, the Burningsuit team were delighted to attend the Microsoft Business Applications Summit which took place in Atlanta, Georgia. The summit featured many insightful talks, training sessions and updates about the Power BI platform.

Who attends the summit?

This summit is one of the key events in the Microsoft Business Applications community and is full of professionals from all types of businesses, whether it be trainers like ourselves, or businesses who use a range of applications to aid the day to day running of their business.

It is designed to connect the community from all across the globe to discuss and share ideas and strategies. There are opportunities to speak to experts, technicians and engineers to find out all of the answers to your burning questions.

The most important part of the summit is all of the keynote training sessions and talks that happen over the course of the two days. These talks include demonstrations, insights into the upcoming landscape of the platforms, and workshops. They cover the full range of the Microsoft Business Applications, including:

• Dynamics 365
• Power BI
• Excel
• PowerApps
• Microsoft Flow

With over 200 sessions across the weekend, this event is the place to be for any Microsoft professional looking to improve their knowledge and connect with others in the industry.

The ‘Roadmap’ session

One of the most important talks of the weekend is the “Microsoft Power BI: The Future of Modern BI – Roadmap and Vision” session. This session covers everything that is new in Power BI, the latest updates and what is coming to the platform in the next year.

The ‘Roadmap’ is required viewing for anyone who’s interested in Power BI and want to know about Microsoft’s plans for the software moving forward. Those attending this session really get an insight into the vision for the platform and it gives trainers such as us the opportunity to keep all of our courses up to date and at the cutting edge of the industry.

Whilst attending the talk, we were pleasantly surprised and honoured to have been included in the session! During the talk the team thanked the Power BI community who have helped to support, promote and direct the product, and our photo was included in this montage. We are incredibly proud to have been recognised by Microsoft as industry experts and leaders in Power BI.
